I’m a STORY buff. I love a good story that’s told in a captivating way. And that’s why I enjoy watching movies…when I can find a good one.
The one thing that I don’t like about movies however is that they have the power to become reality. It’s a double edged sword because the good and the bad can both manifest themselves.
After all, it’s called ‘programs’ for a reason. 😉
Anyways, when it comes to this whole survival thing…it can oftentimes be accompanied with doom and gloom. Dystopia or Apocalyptic.
While I don’t want to project that, there are a few movies you can check out that will give you some views of homesteading that might paint a more realistic picture for you.
These are also meant to be enjoyed, but can let you know that there’s work involved when it comes to living a self-sufficient lifestyle.
Here are a few recommendations:
- Castaways – starring Tom Hanks
- Captain Fantastic – really good story here of a father and his children living away from the world
- Into The Wild – based on a true story of off-grid living
- The Martian – starring Matt Damon – although sci-fi, it is a look into survival using what means you have and overcoming challenges in the process.
Do you have any good recommendations? If so, let me know in the comments so I can add them to the list.
