I, for the life of me still don’t understand to this day why people were buying up those items during a pandemic. Were they thinking they would possibly have a bad case of diarrhea?
Because of this, it forced others to go and buy up the items because they didn’t want to be without. Which caused a bigger snowball of the lack of toilet paper…which led to limiting the amount you could buy.
We’re now facing a similar situation with food. People are being told to stockpile certain items which breeds fear in others…which makes them stockpile the same items…which leads to the same snowball effect.
So what can you do? Well, it’s best for you to get some of these items for yourself. Not because you’re a fearful person, but because you don’t want to be a victim of others’ fear.
Just in case you haven’t started to get certain items, here’s a list of those that I feel are most important to start stockpiling now:
- Seasonings – of course you can eat without them, but might as well try to enjoy yourself in the apocalypse right? (lol)
- Meat – if you can store this, it’s always good to have
- Protein bars – these are great in emergencies as they are higher energy foods
- Powdered drink mixes – great for mixing up your drinking routine
- Dried fruit – these last for years and can give you necessary nutrients
- Molasses – has a ton of energy and can be used in cooking
- Cider Vinegar – tons of uses from cooking to cleaning.
- Honey – great alternative to sugar and stores well.
- Chocolate – dark variety has antioxidants and can be a mood booster
- Fats – because the body needs it and it can also switch up tastes in meals
- Eggs – great source of protein and are extremely versatile
These are just a handful of items. You can also look to store cereals, cornmeal, dried milk, potato flour and flakes, and a lot more.
But remember, we only want to be prepared. We’re not looking to be fearful. Let our outlook on life remain as positive as can be while at the same time being prepped for any crisis that may arise.
