There’s a saying for most people who work a corporate job that they are only a couple of checks away from being homeless.
When you think about the average family or average working person, that’s true because most are living paycheck to paycheck. So if that system ever stopped, they would be up a creek without a paddle seeing that their only skill is to trade time for money.
But have you ever thought about this when it comes to your food?
Have you ever asked yourself, “how many meals am I away from starvation?”
Obviously, the paycheck to paycheck thing plays a part in this scenario as most people rely on grocery stores for their food needs.
But if the grocery stores went away tomorrow, what would you do? How would you survive?
That’s why now more than ever, it’s time for you to learn how to produce your own food.
There are so many tutorials on YouTube that will teach you everything you need to know. And don’t think for a moment that you need a lot of land. You don’t. You can get a ton of production from sections in your house and small patches of land around your house.
Heck, you even have some people doing apartment homesteading! (Yes, that’s really a thing now).
I’ve combined both soil growth and hydroponics and continue to develop my skills in each one.
One of the best things I like is using hydroponics WITH the sun so you get a free grow light lol.
You can use the Kratky method for this and don’t even need a air pump. Just get your nutrient solution (you can make this as well), fill up your container, sit your plant outside and let it grow.
Make sure to keep the container filled as the plant drinks the nutrients and you’ve got a food factory on your hands.
This is so simple, that you can grow lettuce in mason jars to get started. If you don’t have those, use old coffee containers instead.
With all the technology and knowledge we have available today, there’s no reason why any of us should go without nutritious food anymore.
All it takes is a willing heart and action and you too don’t have to be a victim of only being a few meals away from starvation.
